The long and winding road... to Vet School!

Winding Road

From playing 'Animal Hospital' in the playground to purchasing my very own Stethoscope , I have always wanted to be a Vet! However in about year 9, when talk of GCSEs began, I had to start actively working towards my dream career by organising work experience!

At school there were many ups and downs; Teachers encouraged me to rethink my career path to an easier, more reachable goal. Thankfully my Mother's motto is 'if you want something bad enough, you'll work hard enough for it' and she has brought me up the same. You could also just call me just a bit stubborn! But to cut many a story short, I decided to ignore the teachers and gave getting into Vet School my all! Which, as you all now know, I was successful in achieving (eventually).

If (like me) you're not a genius, there is no other option during A levels than to completely neglect any social life; this was something I particularly struggled with during my AS year! Luckily for me, I could retake, but for those of you reading this that haven't got the privilege of retaking, get your head down! It's easy for me to say now, but believe me I know that at the time it's hard; your parents and teachers will go on about how it's not that long a time, but it will feel like forever - trust me!
